Burger Black Cheddar
  • 500g beef mince
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 burger rolls, sliced in half
  • 4 Black Cheddar slices
  • Ripe tomato slices
  • Pickles and gherkins
  • Red onion slices
  • Lettuce


Season the minced beef well and form into 4 bun-sized burgers. Place on a tray, cover with cling film and chilled in the freezer for 15 minutes.  If planning ahead, chill in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

When ready to cook, heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat.  Fry the burgers for 5-6 minutes turning regularly until the burgers are just cooked.

Meanwhile toast the cut surfaces of the burger buns under a grill.

Top each burger with an slice, cover the frying pan and continue to cook for a couple more minutes until the cheese is melting.

Assemble the cheese burgers on the toasted buns with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, gherkins and onions.
